Un estudio de campo en la cuenca de Weihe ha demostrado que un intercambiador de calor de pozo U-tube de media profundidad puede extraer entre 760 y 1035 kW de calor geotérmico manteniendo un delta de temperatura de 10,8°C y una temperatura de salida media de 21,2°C. Los investigadores desarrollaron y validaron un modelo tridimensional de transferencia de calor con una desviación inferior al 6%, y mediante optimización multi-paramétrica identificaron que el gradiente geotérmico (34,5%) y la temperatura de entrada del agua (33,3%) son los factores que más influyen en el intercambio térmico por metro, mientras que la conductividad térmica de la tubería enterrada domina la tasa de decaimiento térmico del reservorio (44,7%). Estos resultados ofrecen una base cuantitativa sólida para el diseño de intercambiadores de calor en proyectos geotérmicos de media profundidad, permitiendo optimizar parámetros operativos y estructurales para maximizar la eficiencia y durabilidad del sistema.
