Regulation of Cell Wall Integrity at Yeast Mating Contact Sites Reveals a Novel Mechanism

This study reveals a novel regulatory mechanism of the Cell Wall Integrity (CWI) pathway at the contact site between mating partners in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Researchers demonstrated that the key CWI component Pkc1 is specifically excluded from the contact site, a process requiring the pheromone-induced cell wall protein Fig2.
