Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) focuses on the health of women across the reproductive lifespan, encompassing pregnancy, childbirth, and disorders of the reproductive system. Obstetrics addresses prenatal care, maternal–fetal medicine, labor and delivery, and postpartum health, emphasizing the safety and well-being of both parent and child. Gynecology examines the physiology and pathology of the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and related structures, covering conditions such as menstrual disorders, endometriosis, infertility, pelvic pain, ovarian and uterine diseases, and reproductive cancers. Integrating endocrinology, surgery, preventive care, and reproductive science, OB-GYN plays a central role in advancing women’s health and improving outcomes throughout all stages of life.
