A new MRI-based study demonstrates that choroid plexus volume (CPV) is significantly enlarged in multiple sclerosis (MS) but not in myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody–associated disease (MOGAD), providing a potential imaging biomarker to differentiate these two demyelinating conditions. Researchers analyzed 3D-T1-weighted MRI scans from 43 MOGAD patients, 48 MS patients, and 44 healthy controls using Bayesian Gaussian mixture modeling, finding that while MS patients exhibited markedly higher normalized CPV compared to both MOGAD and controls, CPV in MOGAD did not differ from healthy individuals.
