Se ha desarrollado un sistema de recuperación de calor residual a escala de chip que integra módulos hidrovoltaicos y termoeléctricos dentro de una única arquitectura microporosa, transformando el calor disipado en electricidad utilizable. Los investigadores demostraron que, al acoplar el sistema a LEDs de alta potencia, la temperatura de unión se redujo de 160 °C a 60 °C, extendiendo la operación estable de 225 segundos a más de 200 horas y aumentando la potencia luminosa de 61.49 a 188.94 mW.
