A Pragmatic Test for Predicting Cognitive Decline

A new study investigates whether combining a simple, remote digital cognitive test with a blood biomarker can better predict cognitive decline in older adults. Researchers measured plasma p-tau217, a known Alzheimer’s disease marker, and a multi-day learning curve (MDLC) from digital tests in 183 cognitively unimpaired participants. The goal was to see if this combined, low-burden approach could improve risk stratification for a major chronic disease.
