Evaluación probabilística y simulación avanzada para desbloquear el potencial geotérmico

Un estudio publicado en Geothermal Energy presenta una evaluación integral del potencial de recursos geotérmicos para calefacción y refrigeración en el campus Xixian de la Universidad de Xi’an Jiaotong, China. Los investigadores combinaron el método volumétrico con simulaciones de Monte Carlo para cuantificar el potencial técnico, estimado en 191.19 × 10^15 J, suficiente para cubrir la demanda energética del campus durante más de 51 años. Además, realizaron simulaciones de acoplamiento hidro-térmico para modelar la respuesta del yacimiento geotérmico a la producción y reinyección, identificando las formaciones más adecuadas para un desarrollo económico y sostenible.
